IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOU TRUCK LICENCE COURSE

Important information:
We have made it easy for you with the below information that will help make the process to upgrade your licence that much easier, as there are certain rules and regulations to follow.  If you are unsure of any of the following you can always get in touch with us via phone 0438 995 995  or send through an email to info@bhvtraining.com.au


What to bring on the day of your training:

*  Driver’s Licence
*  Medical Certificates if required (See below for more details)
*  Suitable clothing. If you have, we suggest you wear a Hi-Vis Shirt  or a vest.
*  Appropriate footwear, no open footwear is allowed as per BHVT policies and procedures.

Heavy Vehicle Road Rules Theory Test:

When you are upgrading to a truck licence from your car licence you will need to sit a heavy vehicle road rules test. This must be done in person at your nearest Transport and Main Roads  (TMR) customer service centre. You can practice the 10 theory questions test online by following the link below.  Make sure you take the test several times to access all the possible questions.   You can take the theory test on the day of your practical driving test, but it is advisable this is done prior.  (Cost is approx. $29.00)

  

 Medical Fitness to Drive:

If you apply or renew your Queensland driver licence, you must notify Transport and Main Roads about any medical condition that is likely to adversely affect your ability to drive safely. 
If you hold such a notification this must also be declared to us when making your booking. You may be required to undertake a medical fitness to drive.  Please refer to the Transport and Main Roads department. https://www.qld.gov.au/transport/licensing/update/medical/fitness
 


                       Heavy Vehicle Truck Licence Courses


Each Heavy Vehicle Course  is conducted with the student and Driver Trainer to provide comprehensive one on one training to ensure all aspects of the practical driving test is covered and includes:


Pre-drive checklist                                      Road laws: TORUM / NHVR Law
Driving demonstration                                Driving in cities and highways
Defensive driving                                        Reversing Techniques
System of vehicle control                           Managing WHS requirements
Utilising Government websites; NHVR & TMR

What Heavy Vehicle Licence courses do you offer?

Heavy Rigid - Condition B  or Condition A
Medium Rigid - Condition B  or Condition A

Which will enable you to drive Trucks with Syncromesh (manual) and automatic gearboxes
(Students must hold a Manual Car Licence for (B) Condition or if holding an Automatic,
(A) Condition will authorised on their licence)

NOTE:  You are not authorised to drive a Constant Mesh Gearbox (Road Ranger Gearbox)

All training conducted in:   - 5 Speed Automatic Transmission Vehicles

> UD MK 11 250  2018 model 
> FUSO Fighter 1224 2020 model 
> ISUZU 2024  FRD Series Tray Truck

The same trucks are used for the MR and HR Courses.  For the HR we lower a third axle to make it compliant.


What are the requirements?

·       Hold your car licence for 24 months (min. 2-year Green Plates)

·       Complete the Heavy Vehicle theory test with Qld Transport. You can take the theory test on the day of your practical driving test.
